Personal Essay & Insight Questions:

The goal of a personal statement is to show admissions who you are beyond your transcript and test scores. To show what makes you, you: your personality, unique experiences and perspectives that have shaped you, and what drives you at your core. It is a place to show admissions what kind of student you will be on campus and the contributions you might make to their community. Students often ask what a college's ideal student is and wonder which parts of themselves they should show in their personal essays and insight questions. Just as there is no one way to write your essay, there is no one “ideal student.” Draw from the experiences in your life that have been most meaningful to you and how they influenced you as a person and student. At the end of the day, the best advice I can give is to dig deep, be honest, and stay true to your own voice.
