About

Katarina La Poll grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area alongside her five siblings and works in the performing and literary arts. She has received support from the Community of Writers, the William Esper Studio for Performing Arts, and Columbia University School of the Arts where she holds an MFA in Creative Writing with a concentration in poetry. She has ghostwritten memoirs and autobiographies for leading voices across industries and works with families to preserve their elders’ life stories. Fascinated by the inner workings of the heart and mind, as inscribed in archival material such as old tapes, scribbled notes, love letters, to-do lists, Katarina documents oral histories and collaborates with storytellers to reimagine their life stories through artistic mediums including narrative nonfiction, poetry, and performance. She teaches creative writing workshops and is currently based in Brooklyn, New York.
